Dr. Maksymilian Opolski
Maksymilian holds the position of the Assistant Professor at the Department of Interventional Cardiology and Angiology at the Institute of Cardiology in Warsaw. He is devoted to integrating interventional cardiology and noninvasive imaging by cardiac computed tomography angiography. In 2015, he performed the first-in-man percutaneous coronary intervention with an aid of AR glass. He was the leading investigator of a research project on the use of AR for computed tomography-guided percutaneous revascularization of coronary chronic total occlusion. From 2013 to 2014, he held a scholarship of the German Cardiac Society in Kerckhoff-Klinik in Bad-Nauheim resulting in the development and clinical validation of the noninvasive computed tomographic-based CT-RECTOR score. Maksymilian is the first author of numerous high-impact publications in the leading cardiology journals (Circulation, JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging, Heart, American Journal of Cardiology), and a regular lecturer at international cardiology conferences (TCT, ESC, EACTS, SCCT). He has been awarded the prestigious START scholarship by the Foundation for Polish Science, the scholarship for outstanding young scientists by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the scientific award of “Polityka” 2017. He is also a member of the Polish Cardiac Society and the European Society of Cardiology.
