European VR/AR Congress 2017

On 23 - 24 November 2017, the Copernicus Science Centre will yet again become a platform for the exchange of knowledge on VR technologies and on the latest projects which apply this knowledge in practice. Welcome to the European VR/AR Congress 2017!

The first European VR Congress took place on 3-4 November 2016. The event, organised by Konferencje Agora, was attended by over half a thousand participants. The congress served as a platform for the exchange of specialised knowledge on a wide range of subjects – from construction and architecture, to computer games, art and marketing, to psychology and medicine. The participants were able to test, among others, the latest Ricoh Theta S video camera, Microsoft HoloLens glasses, PlayStation VR console, and to experience VR productions at 24 VR Expo booths.

The spring congress featured an extended VR Expo zone and an enhanced programme of activities. The visitors were able to try their luck in Speed Dating – a series of brief meetings matching VR companies with investors, and participate in workshops to broaden their knowledge on selected subjects, for instance cinematic VR. The VR Expo also featured a Startup Zone, where innovative projects from Poland and abroad had a chance to be introduced to the public.

The European VR Congress 2017 third edition programme is under construction, and it will include among many:

Presentations by VR experts

Content developers, equipment manufacturers and VR specialists will talk honestly about their experiences to date, current trends and challenges they face. Some important issues to be discussed will include, among others, business application of virtual reality, VR application in medicine, construction and culture, as well as the financial potential of the VR sector.

Discussion sessions dedicated to the development of VR / AR

During the congress, virtual and mixed reality experts will discuss challenges currently faced by the VR / AR sector, as well as its fate over the next few years. Is virtual or augmented reality the future? Which sectors use VR / AR technologies the most successfully? Which Polish companies active in this market can achieve international success? We will learn our experts’ opinions on those subjects during the discussion sessions.

Practical VR application workshops

Our partners, specialists with extensive experience in practical application of VR, will hold workshops to help participants improve their skills and knowledge in the use of those technologies. While working in small groups, the participants will discuss selected VR topics, for example immersive video production, in great detail.

VR EXPO and Startup Zone

An integral part of the Congress is the EXPO zone, where the visitors can test the latest equipment and personally experience the most innovative VR / AR developments, as well as talk to the designers and creators. A new addition during the second European VR Congress will be a special Startup Zone, where the youngest companies from the VR / AR sector will present their products and innovations.

Networking meetings

The European VR Congress is a meeting of several hundred experts, entrepreneurs from the VR / AR sector, content developers, equipment manufacturers, as well as representatives of the media and marketing specialists. It is the perfect opportunity to meet other enthusiasts of this technology, learn how your business can benefit from it, talk personally to other users and experts, and most of all, to establish new contacts which will give rise to new ideas and innovative projects. Visitors will have a chance to do all that during the opening breakfast held on both congress days, as well as during numerous networking breaks.

Socialising event

Once the main part of the first day of the congress is over, another networking opportunity will ensue. In the evening, we will all meet during a socialising event to get to know each other and – in a slightly less formal atmosphere – to continue conversations started earlier in the day about the fascinating world of VR / AR technology.
